Pop3 usually works ok for me, the passwords do take a while to kick in but you can reload services or the server to force it, i.e. tell pop3 q , tell router q, tell smtp q or tell http q, and the load smtp etc. this works especially for domain name or mail routing changes & Configuration. The acid test to help you with internet passwords working or not is to use internet explorer to contact the mail file (
http://serverip/mail/yournam.nsf) and see if the username and password your trying for pop allows you access. If it doesn't then reset the password again. Also in the Admin client you can restart the server from the server tab and it is very quick and tends not to disrupt users. Noes does chuck up dodgy errors sometimes so test the basics on computer A and make sure ip is ok and do the internet test I suggested.
Hope this helps
